Got the travel bug and looking for an affordable holiday in 2025? Thinking about checking out Hammamet in Tunisia? Well, this could be the perfect trip for you and your partner! 🌴✈️
It's always mixed feelings of excitement and anxiety for me when going on holidays, even though we can all be super adventurous, going to new places can still be a little daunting.
I love a destination like Hammamet that feels so welcoming, fun, and relaxing, so much so that that little bit of anxiety in your belly fades away!
Hammamet boasts warm temperatures, just the kind of heat you and your partner would love as fellow beach bums. The sand in Hammamet is deep and smooth, perfect for sinking your feet into. The sea is beautiful, warm, and clear - ideal for floating around whilst feeling the sun warm up your nose and fish tickle at your toes.
My partner Aaron and I stayed all-inclusive at the Bel Azur Hotel for a week. We honestly wished we had stayed for longer on the plane home! The Bel Azur is a massive complex situated right on the beach. It's gorgeous and surrounded by nature. There is plenty to do, with a variety of fun entertainment and activities on site every day and evening hosted by the animation team. They are a true asset to the Bel Azur.
Let me tell you about another incredible asset at the Bel Azur - the CATS! They were absolutely purr-fect! 🐱 One of the highlights of our stay and the entire trip. I've always helped stray animals during my vacations, making sure they have food and water. But let me tell you, the number of stray cats in Hammamet was mind-blowing - they were everywhere! However, what amazed me the most was the tight-knit cat community thriving at the Bel Azur!
There was so many cats young and old, from tiny kittens to mature felines, they were all over the place - playing, lounging, exploring, and soaking up all the love from the guests. The hotel residents take such good care of them, ensuring they are happy and healthy. As animal enthusiasts, you can bet we spent hours pampering these furry friends! 🐾
One of the things I adore about Hammamet is the awesome trio of sun, sea, and sand! I proudly hold the title of a certified beach bum, and guess what? My partner is one too! The vistas and beaches in Hammamet are simply jaw-dropping, whether it's the blazing sun or the starry night sky. There's something magical about listening to the waves serenade you at night, especially when the beach is all lit up by the Bel Azur's twinkling lights. These simple moments are like a gentle nudge to stay in the now and appreciate the heck out of life.
You also get to use all sun loungers on the beach areas around the Bel Azur for free which is a complete bonus! Considering a lot of resorts charge extra for this.
There is a lot to explore in Hammamet, exploring the town would make me feel at times like I was walking through a Mamma Mia scene! If you love to find unique trinkets and gifts and don't mind a good haggle - You will enjoy the shopping life within Hammamet.
You could book excursions that offer a wide variety of activities. If you head to a place called Black & White, you will meet a cool local called Sammy who can organise these for you at a great price. These excursions are much more cost-appropriate than what you may be offered in the hotel complex.
We also enjoyed a meal at Black & White accompanied by some live jazz music, I ended up getting up and singing myself which was really fun!
Me and Aaron booked quad biking with Sammy, something we have both always wanted to do, it was a brilliant price and experience, absolutely worth it. You can drive one in a pair or on your own and we chose to both drive our own. It was lush weather, and the trip seemed to last for ages, you definitely get your moneys worth. It was also pretty funny seeing myself in one of these helmets ha-ha!
We also booked a trip to the charming picturesque village of Sidi Bou Said, otherwise known as the blue and white village, and Carthage town where we got to see some beautiful views, ancient ruins and did a spot of shopping all on our last day.
I will never forget this gorgeous dish I had in a charming, one-of-a-kind, and cozy spot called Bleue in Sidi Bou Said. You must visit this gem as you wander through the enchanting blue and white village, it's near the start – it's a true delight!
Now, let me rave about the 'Cilber' dish I had there. Poached eggs, yogurt, chili-spiced butter, and mint, all served with fresh bread – it was pure culinary magic! The taste was so dreamy that I couldn't resist trying to recreate it at home. The place itself is a treasure, and the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming.
This whole day trip worked out super well for us as the airport is in Carthage, we were assigned a private cab driver for the day who was a wonderful guide! He took us to all of these destinations whilst teaching us the history and were dropped off at the airport a couple of hours before our flight was due to depart. It was a lovely way to spend our last day in Hammamet.
Take a look at this awesome video mashup of our adventure! Of course, we couldn't capture every single moment - it's essential to enjoy life to the max without always having the camera out to record it all! But, I'm sure this will give you a glimpse of the amazing time we had in Hammamet. Get excited for your own fantastic romantic getaway there! 🌴✈️
